Devour Buffalo Style Chicken Mac & Cheese

This is my first TV Dinner review and I am excited! I hope you guys keep reading and devour (HA!) this meal with me! Upon taking this meal out of the box one may be turned off by its initial appearance. But I trudged through and followed the instructions, which entailed cooking it not once but twice in a microwave oven.

However, once cooked it takes on a much more appealing form as well as acquiring an aroma that made my mouth water.

But let's not dilly dally here, the presentation of this meal is subpar at best. The cheese is a bit too bright to look real and the cheese did not cover all the macaroni evenly; overall its just what you would expect and this earns it a 4. Upon taking the first bite of macaroni I was disappointed it had a chewy texture and did not taste like anything other than plasticky microwaved cheese. Then I bit into the chicken. It was soft and had a very nice taste to it. The chicken alone would have ranked both an 8 in taste and texture. The addition of the macaroni brings it down to a 7 in taste and 5 in texture. The smell of the meal escaped from the microwave and made it to my nose while cooking, making my mouth water. It was a nice aroma; perhaps a bit too cheesy for my taste but it easily earned a 7. The meal cost me $3.50, making it one of the cheapest meals around here, but I was disappointed by the small portion size. It left me craving more food especially some sort of sweet desert to counteract the saltiness and spice of this meal. Nonetheless, it scores an 8 in cost. Speaking of saltiness the sodium content of this was more than 1800mg which makes 79%, a significant majority, of the suggested daily value of sodium one should eat. Furthermore its contents of 22 grams of saturated fat and 1 gram of trans fat earns this meal a 3 in nutritional value.

This was an enjoyable meal and I look forward to trying other Devour products. Although, so far, Hungry Man remains my favorite TV dinner. Unfortunately you cannot cook these in a conventional oven like you could a Hungry Man meal.
