1950 Originals Bacon Pimento Dog

Entering the establishment, you are directed to visit a kiosk and place your order. I debated between the potato stix dog and the pimento cheese bacon dog and eventually settled on the pimento cheese dog. I anxiously awaited to get that dawg in me while my order cooked. It was eventually brought to my seat. The dog sat neatly in a checkered tray, cheekily pointing its ends out. The pimento cheese globbed onto the dog beckoned me to use the fork and knife provided to spread it out. Indeed, it would be difficult to consume this without taking the necessary precautions that ensure an even spread of ingredients. After preparing the dog, I decided to continue with the heretical mode of consumption.

Starting from one end of the dog, I was pleasantly surprised by the texture, which had the adequate crispy skin of the dog sheltering the soft, yummy inside. The dog itself tasted great, but the other aspects left much to be desired. The pimento cheese was overpowering. The bacon bits were fake and terrible. The bun was too sweet. This scored a 6 in taste.

The texture of the dog, as mentioned, was enjoyable. The pimento cheese softened up the bun nicely and made the whole thing quite nice. However, the fake bacon bits were too crunchy and just did not sit well with the rest of the dog. This scores an 8 in texture.

The dog smelled good with a fried smell mixed with pimento cheese. This scores a 7 in aroma.

The dog was $7.99, making it quite expensive, but it was filling. This scores a 4 in cost.

The nutrition of this dog is probably worse than a plain dog. The pimento cheese and fake bacon bits make me feel bloated and desiring a refreshing piece of celery. This scores a 2 in nutrition.

The neat presentation of this dog was likable. This scores an 8 in presentation. Overall, the bacon pimento dog from 1950 Originals scores a 5.83.
