Bagel Nosh Bacon Egg and Cheese

  1. On New Brunswick's George Street exists an establishment called Diego's Bagel Nosh. It is one of those classic haunts where once inside you could imagine that you were in Bound Brook, Sparta, or even Setauket. The menu consists of the same staples as any bagel shop and just like in any bagel shop I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel.

Upon unwrapping the bagel I noticed that the seeds were not evenly coating the bagel but rather concentrated on the top and bottom. Biting into the bagel was a bit too tough for my liking which was not helped by the dense amalgamation of seeds on the top of the bagel. Meanwhile the eggs and bacon had a more pleasant texture. This scores a 6 in texture. The taste of this sandwich was similar to that of most bacon egg and cheese which is to say great. While I had no complaints with the taste, it was not phenomenal. This scores an 8 in taste. The aroma of this sandwich was actually quite strong and was pleasant to the nose. This scores an 8 for aroma. The cost of this bacon egg and cheese was $6.34 which was inflated because of the "national egg shortage". I'd say this is a standard price for a BEC and this is a standard size for a BEC. This scores a 5 for cost. A BEC is not very nutritious but does contain some protein and vitamins. This scores a 4 for nutrition. The presentation elicited the same hungry salivation that accompanies a BEC. This scores an 8 for presentation. Overall, this was a standard bacon egg and cheese that was readily for consumption. It presented no remarkable traits but instead served as the familiar cornerstone of a bodega so this scores a total of 6.58.
